We went through West Virginia for about 20 miles.
We went through Maryland for about 10 miles. It's a good thing we already had stickers for these states.
Finally got to Pennsylvania. Welcome home! We made it to well past Harrisburg by the afternoon and stopped for the night.
Next day was into New York and the New York Thruway. It was a beautiful drive through the Catskills and into the Adirondacks and to Lake George. There was room for us at a lovely state park and we could walk to the beach on Lake George.
We met some friends for dinner. Now last year, while in North Dakota, we unexpectedly ran into a couple from Sun City. The year before, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, we ran into a couple from Sun City. This was not the same thing, though somewhat fortuitous. I just happened to email because I knew they were going to a part of Canada that we would be passing through. Turns out they were near Lake George. The running into unexpectedly will probably happen with someone else later this summer. But if the Bartletts happen to read this blog: thanks for sharing a fun evening.
Monday we were up early after a very rainy night. It is noisy on the roof when you live in a tin can. Since there was no electricity in the campground and generator hours did not start until 9AM (uncivilized), we drove to the beach parking lot. We were one of three cars on the huge lot and we used the generator in preparing breakfast. A light rain kept up for several hours as we continued driving north.
