Just a little outside Quebec City

Just outside Quebec City is the island of Iles d'Orleans. It is a farming island, very quiet and a favorite place for the locals to get away.  It was only about 45 minutes from our last campground.  On the way, we planned on visiting Montmorency Falls.
So into the GPS I go and I find Parc Montmorency and off we go.  We crossed the bridge and found we had missed the turn off.  No problem, we are not far.

The GPS recalculates, as it does so well.  We are no longer on a highway, but on local streets, but they are wide.  The time of arrival is only two minutes and from looking at a map I know this cannot be .  Suddenly we are in the city, near a place we saw on our red bus tour.  There must be a Parc Montmorency in the city also.  It is a famous name.  Pull over to do our own recalculation.  A traffic monitor comes over and starts talking in French.  Of course, what else.  Les tells him we are lost and he does revert to English.  We are just around the corner from the highway so it was easy back on.  Next time I must not assume the GPS knows exactly what we want.  Short drive to the CHUTES Montmorency  Parc.

The falls are supposed to be higher than the Niagara Falls.  Doubt it.

Unfortunately you must take a cable car to the top of the falls.

Then you have to walk across this footbridge over the falls.  Well, you don't HAVE to, but if you want to see the falls.....

Another view across the footbridge over the falls.

You can take the cable car down or walk down these hundreds of steps.
