There is sun this morning as we travel about two hours west. We have crossed the province. We enter the park and drive to one section of the park off the main road. Thirty three km up and down and through construction.
This the the view looking north and south from our site.
No icebergs possible but we are hoping for some whales.
We drove the five minutes to the Discovery Center to find out about hikes. Tomorrow we will take the guided hike to the Tablelands. Today we will do the Lookout Point hike behind the center.
It is 5 km continuously uphill. The trail is muddy.... anywhere from wet to an inch of the stuff. Stairs, boardwalks, rocks... I find it tough.
There are some boardwalks.
And yes, those are snow patches on the hillsides.
We are rewarded by these views. Not sure if it is enough of a reward.
It is now after 5 PM. It doesn't get dark until 9:30, but will we make it down. Should be no problem, but as we shuffle down the wet, slippery path, I'm not so sure. But we do get down, still in the sunlight. I am wiped. Les will not admit to being the same. Should we be insulted when young adults going up or down and passing us, say, " You two are really doing great." Are we that pathetic? Is it so obvious we are the two old folks?
Back at the campground, it has pretty much filled up. Every rv is from Quebec, except for one from Connecticut. Never did get to speak with them. They left really quickly this morning. Do they know something?
